KWA is preparing the ACDBE program plan and the FY 2016-FY 2018 overall ACDBE goal for the Commonwealth Ports Authority. Acting as a sub-consultant to Ricondo & Associates, Inc., we are preparing the goal for the Saipan International Airport, which is located in the Northern Mariana Islands.
The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands is a U.S. Territory and subject to the same federal regulations as the Mainland. The CNMI is a group of 14 islands in the North Pacific Ocean along the Mariana Trench, the deepest location on earth. Saipan is located about 3700 mi west of Honolulu, Hawaii, and about 125 mi north east of Guam in the western Pacific Ocean.
In 1981, the Commonwealth Ports Authority (CPA) was created by Public Law 2-48 and tasked with managing and operating all the airports and seaports throughout the Northern Marianas. The Saipan International Airport is the gateway to the Commonwealth of the Northern Marina Islands, serving Saipan, Rota & Tinian with Major airlines operating including: Delta Airlines, Asiana Airlines, Shanghai Airlines, Sichuan Airlines, China Eastern and Fly Guam.
Ken Weeden & Associates, having worked on 35 states and two other U.S. Territories, (Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands), is very honored to have been selected to provide Compliance consulting service to this remote, but important area of the United States. Hafa Adai! (Greetings 🙂 )
